Rh-Polypeptide-14 is a single-chain human recombinant peptide produced by fermentation in Escherichia coli. The starting gene encodes beta nerve growth factor, and the peptide consists of up to 241 amino acids.[1] The number 14 at the end of the name is only an identification number distinguishing different peptides; it does not indicate the amount used or rank efficacy. In cosmetics, it is used to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[3] It cannot be used in cosmetics in Europe.[2]
