About Quaternium-98
Quaternium-98 is a quaternary ammonium salt obtained by reacting ethoxylated (23 moles) laurylpropylenediamine with lauric acid and then quaternizing it with dimethyl sulfate.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, reduce tangling and roughness in hair for easier conditioning, and leave the skin’s surface feeling soft and smooth.[2]
