About Quaternium-77
Quaternium-77 is a quaternary ammonium salt.[1] Because Quaternium-77 has a structure with both water- and oil-affine parts, its cleansing power, foam, and feel may vary depending on the formulation concentration and the surfactants used with it. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or cling to one another, and to reduce tangling and roughness for smoother hair conditioning.[2]
