About Pvp
PVP is a linear polymer composed of 1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone monomers.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, help ingredients in the formulation bind together to maintain its shape, and prevent emulsions of water and oil from separating easily.[2] It is also used to form a thin film on the skin, hair, or nail surface after application, hold the desired hair shape in place, and adjust the viscosity and flow of the formulation.[2]
