About Pvm/Ma Copolymer

PVM/MA Copolymer is a copolymer of methyl vinyl ether and maleic anhydride.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, help ingredients in a formulation bind together to maintain its form, and help prevent emulsions of water and oil from separating easily.[2] It is also used to form a thin film on the skin, hair, or nail surface after application, hold the desired hair shape in place, and adjust the viscosity and flow of a formulation.[2]
