About PPG-7/PEG-30 Phytosterol
PPG-7/PEG-30 Phytosterol is a polyoxyethylene, polyoxypropylene derivative of phytosterols with an average of 30 moles of ethylene oxide and an average of 7 moles of propylene oxide. [1] The number 30 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; within the same basic structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formulation. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed and to lower surface tension so that ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
