PPG-6 C9-11 Alketh-5 is a polyoxypropylene polyoxyethylene ether of a synthetic alcohol mixture.[1] The number 6 after PPG indicates the average number of linked propylene oxide units. In cosmetics, it is used to lower surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly, and to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly blended.[2]
