About PPG-51/Smdi Copolymer

PPG-51/SMDI Copolymer is a copolymer of saturated methylenediphenyl diisocyanate (dicyclohexylmethane diisocyanate) monomers and PPG-51.[1] The number 51 after PPG indicates the average number of linked propylene oxide units. Together with the type of fatty component attached to it, this number affects how well it mixes with oils and the application feel. In cosmetics, it is used to form a thin film on the surface of the skin, hair, or nails after application; to help reduce tangling and rough feel in hair and leave it feeling smooth; and to hold the desired hair shape in place.[2]
