About PPG-5 Tocophereth-2

PPG-5 Tocophereth-2 is an alkoxylated derivative of tocopherol with an average of 5 moles of propylene oxide and 2 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 5 after PPG indicates the average number of linked propylene oxide units; together with the type of fatty component attached, this affects how well it mixes with oils and how it feels when applied. In cosmetics, it is used to help powder ingredients flow evenly without forming lumps, slow the oxidation of formula components caused by reactions with oxygen, and help formula ingredients bind together to maintain their shape.[2]
