About PPG-4-Ceteareth-12

PPG-4-Ceteareth-12 is a polyoxypropylene and polyoxyethylene ether of cetearyl alcohol, where R is a mixture of cetyl and stearyl radicals.[1] x averages 4, and the ethylene oxide repeat units average 12. The number 12 at the end of the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added and changes the balance between the water-loving and fat-loving portions, resulting in differences in cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and skin feel. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
