About PPG-3 C12-14 Sec-Alketh-7
PPG-3 C12-14 Sec-Alketh-7 is a polyoxyethylene, polyoxypropylene ether of a synthetic mixture of secondary C12-14 alcohols.[1] The number 3 after PPG indicates the average number of linked propylene oxide units; together with the type of fatty component attached, it affects oil compatibility and application feel. In cosmetics, it is used to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly, create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly blended, and help prevent the emulsified mixture of water and oil from separating easily.[2]
