About PPG-20 Lanolin Alcohol Ether
PPG-20 Lanolin Alcohol Ether is a polypropylene glycol ether of lanolin alcohol propoxylated with an average of 20 moles.[1] The number 20 after PPG indicates the average number of linked propylene oxide units. Depending on this number and the type of fatty component attached to it, its compatibility with oils and application feel can vary. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to reduce hair tangling and rough feel for smoother conditioning.[2]
