About PPG-2 Tocophereth-5

PPG-2 Tocophereth-5 is an alkoxylated derivative of tocopherol containing an average of 2 moles of propylene oxide and an average of 5 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 2 after PPG indicates the average number of linked propylene oxide units; this number and the type of fatty component attached to it affect how well it mixes with oils and the feel during application. In cosmetics, it is used to keep powder ingredients from clumping and help them flow evenly, slow the oxidation of formula ingredients caused by reactions with oxygen, and leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[2]
