About PPG-2-Laureth-8
PPG-2-Laureth-8 is a polyoxypropylene, polyoxyethylene ether of lauryl alcohol.[1] The number 8 at the end of the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. It changes the balance between the water-loving and oil-loving portions, resulting in differences in cleansing and emulsifying power and sensory feel. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth, and lower surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
