About PPG-2 C12-13 Alketh-8
PPG-2 C12-13 Alketh-8 is a polypropylene glycol ether of an ethoxylated synthetic fatty acid mixture of C12-13, with an average of 8 moles of ethylene oxide and an average of 2 moles of propylene oxide.[1] The number 2 after PPG indicates the average number of linked propylene oxide units. Together with the type of fatty component attached, this affects how well it mixes with oils and its application feel. In cosmetics, it is used to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly, and to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
