About PPG-18 Diglyceryl Ether
PPG-18 Diglyceryl Ether is a polypropylene glycol ether of a glycerin dimer containing an average of 18 moles of propylene oxide.[1] The number 18 after PPG indicates the average number of linked propylene oxide units. Depending on this number and the type of fatty component attached, its compatibility with oils and application feel may vary. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce hair tangling and roughness for smoother grooming, to leave the skin surface soft and smooth, and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
