About PPG-16 Glyceryl Ether

PPG-16 Glyceryl Ether is a polypropylene glycol ether of glycerin.[1] The number 16 after PPG indicates the average number of linked propylene oxide units. Depending on this number and the type of fatty component attached to it, its miscibility with oils and application feel vary. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to lower surface tension so that raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
