About PPG-12/Smdi Copolymer

PPG-12/SMDI Copolymer is a copolymer of saturated methylene diphenyl diisocyanate and PPG-12 monomers.[1] The number 12 after PPG indicates the average number of linked propylene oxide units. Depending on this number and the type of fatty component attached to it, its miscibility with oils and application feel vary. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction and add a smooth feel to skin or hair, form a thin film on the surface of skin, hair, or nails after application, and hold hair in the desired shape.[2] It is also used to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[2]
