About PPG-12-PEG-50 Lanolin

PPG-12-PEG-50 Lanolin is a polyoxypropylene and polyoxyethylene derivative of lanolin.[1] The number 50 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added. Within the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formulation. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly blended, to reduce tangling and roughness in hair for smoother manageability, and to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
