About PPG-10 Tocophereth-30
PPG-10 Tocophereth-30 is an alkoxylated derivative of tocopherol with an average of 10 moles of propylene oxide and 30 moles of ethylene oxide added.[1] The number 10 after PPG indicates the average number of linked propylene oxide units; together with the type of fatty component attached, this number affects oil miscibility and application feel. In cosmetics, it is used to slow the oxidation of formula ingredients caused by reactions with oxygen, help formula ingredients combine to maintain their form, and leave the skin’s surface soft and smooth.[2]
