PPG-1/PEG-1 Stearamine is an alkoxylated derivative of stearamine with an average of 1 mole of ethylene oxide and an average of 1 mole of propylene oxide.[1] The number 1 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. With the same base structure, changing this number may affect water miscibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formula. In cosmetics, it is used to inhibit the growth of microorganisms.[2]
