About Potassium Sulfite

Potassium Sulfite is an inorganic salt.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to inhibit the growth of microorganisms in the product and slow deterioration during storage, and to cause reactions that reduce other ingredients.[3] In Europe, when used as a preservative, it is permitted at up to 0.2% based on the free sulfur dioxide content.[2]
