About Potassium Propionate

Potassium propionate is the potassium salt of propionic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to inhibit the growth of microorganisms in products, helping delay quality deterioration and spoilage during storage.[3] In Europe, when used as a preservative, it is permitted at up to 2% (calculated as acid).[2]
