About Polyurethane-27

Polyurethane-27 is formed by reacting polyperfluoroethoxymethoxydifluorohydroxyethyl ether with isophorone diisocyanate to form a prepolymer. Because its structure consists of multiple building units linked into a long chain, it can control the flow of a formulation or leave a thin film after drying; its viscosity and film flexibility vary depending on whether it is crosslinked.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to form a thin film on the surface of skin, hair, or nails after application, to reduce tangling and rough feel in hair for a smoother appearance, and to help protect the skin from external factors.[2] The prepolymer then reacts with the triethylamine salt of 3-hydroxy-2-(hydroxymethyl)-2-methyl-1-propionic acid.[1]
