About Polyquaternium-67
Polyquaternium-67 is a polymerized quaternary ammonium salt of hydroxyethylcellulose reacted with trimethylammonium-substituted epoxide and lauryldimethylammonium-substituted epoxide.[1] The number 67 after Polyquaternium is only an identification number distinguishing different polyquaterniums; it does not indicate the content or molecular size. Its positively charged portions are used to reduce static electricity in hair and leave a thin film. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, form a thin film on the surface of the skin, hair, or nails after application, and reduce hair tangling and roughness for a smoother finish.[2]
