Polyquaternium-63 is a polymerized quaternary ammonium salt formed from acrylamide, acrylic acid, and ethyltrimonium chloride acrylate.[1] The number 63 after Polyquaternium is only an identification number distinguishing different Polyquaterniums; it does not indicate the content or molecular size. Its positively charged portions are used to reduce static in hair and leave a thin film.
