About Polyquaternium-27
Polyquaternium-27 is a block copolymer obtained from the reaction of Polyquaternium-2 and Polyquaternium-17.[1] The number 27 after Polyquaternium is only an identifying number that distinguishes different Polyquaterniums; it does not indicate the concentration or molecular size. Its positively charged portions are used to reduce static electricity in hair and leave a thin film. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or cling to one another and to form a thin film on the skin, hair, or nail surface after application.[2]
