Polyglyceryl-3 Caprate/Caprylate/Succinate is a monoester of Polyglycerin-3 and a mixture of capric acid, caprylic acid, and succinic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly blended, and leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[2] It is also used to dissolve other ingredients to create a uniform formula and to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
