Polydextrose is a polymer obtained by condensing D-glucose.[1] The moisturizing feel and spreadability of a finished product containing Polydextrose may vary depending on the use concentration and the combination of moisturizing and emollient ingredients used with it. In cosmetics, it is used to increase the volume of the formula and adjust the amount of solids, and to attract moisture to the formula and skin’s surface and help maintain a moisturized feel.[2]
