About Poly(1,2-Butanediol)-4 PEG/PPG-29/9 Methyl Glucose
Poly(1,2-Butanediol)-4 PEG/PPG-29/9 Methyl Glucose is a mixture of random/block copolymers obtained by reacting a mixture of 29 mol of ethylene oxide and 9 mol of propylene oxide with methyl glucose, followed by reaction with 4 mol of 1,2-butylene oxide.[1] The number 29 after PPG indicates the average number of linked propylene oxide units. This number, together with the type of fatty component attached, affects oil miscibility and application feel. In cosmetics, it is used to leave the skin’s surface soft and smooth and to attract moisture to the formula and skin’s surface to help maintain moisturization.[1]
