About Poloxamer 403
Poloxamer 403 is a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene block polymer.[1] In the Poloxamer number 403, the first two digits indicate an approximate molecular weight of 4000 for the oil-affine middle block, while the last digit indicates that the water-affine portion accounts for approximately 30%; the influence of the oil-affine middle block is relatively strong. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to reduce surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
