About Poloxamer 334

Poloxamer 334 is a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene block polymer in which x, y, and z are 31, 54, and 31 on average, respectively.[1] In the Poloxamer number 334, the first two digits indicate an approximate molecular weight of 3300 for the oil-loving central portion, while the last digit indicates that the water-loving portion accounts for approximately 40%. The water- and oil-loving portions are relatively balanced. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to reduce surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
