About Poloxamer 212
Poloxamer 212 is a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene block polymer.[1] In the Poloxamer number 212, the first two digits indicate an approximate molecular weight of 2100 for the oil-affine central portion, while the last digit indicates that the water-affine portion accounts for approximately 20%; the influence of the oil-affine central portion is relatively strong. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly blended, and to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
