Poloxamer 185 is a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene block polymer.[1] In the Poloxamer number 185, the first two digits indicate an approximate molecular weight of 1800 for the oil-affine middle block, while the last digit indicates that the water-affine portion accounts for approximately 50%; the water- and oil-affine portions are relatively balanced.
