Poloxamer 108 is a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene block polymer.[1] In the Poloxamer number 108, the first two digits indicate an approximate molecular weight of 1000 for the oil-loving central portion, while the last digit indicates that the water-loving portion accounts for approximately 80%. Because the proportion of the water-loving portion is high, it disperses relatively well in water-based formulations.
