About Poloxamer 105

Poloxamer 105 is a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene block polymer.[1] In the Poloxamer number 105, the first two digits indicate an approximate molecular weight of 1000 for the oil-affine central portion, while the last digit indicates that the water-affine portion accounts for approximately 50%; the two portions are relatively balanced. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly blended, and to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
