About Pinus Palustris Tar Oil

Pinus Palustris Tar Oil is a volatile oil obtained by steam distilling the wood tar of Pinus palustris.[1] Volatile components obtained from Pinus palustris tar contribute to the initial impression of a fragrance and the scent that remains after application, and tend to evaporate more readily than ordinary vegetable oils. In cosmetics, it is used to keep the ingredient's characteristic odor or taste from becoming too pronounced and to leave the skin or hair feeling fresh and well-groomed.[3] In Korea, oils and extracts of leaves and twigs with a peroxide value exceeding 10 mmol/L cannot be used in cosmetics.[2]
