About Pineamidopropyl Betaine

Pineamidopropyl Betaine is a zwitterion (inner salt).[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help reduce plaque buildup on tooth surfaces, help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, and create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2] It is also used to help keep water-and-oil emulsions from separating easily, form foam during use, reduce hair tangling and rough feel for smooth grooming, leave the skin surface soft and smooth, and lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2] [2]
