About Phenyl Benzoate
Phenyl Benzoate is an ester of phenol and benzoic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to inhibit the growth of microorganisms in products, helping delay quality deterioration and spoilage during storage after manufacture.[3] In Europe, when used as a preservative, it is permitted up to 0.5% (based on acid content).[2]
