About Perillyl Alcohol
Perillyl alcohol is an organic compound with a terpene-based structure commonly found in plants.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to inhibit the growth of microorganisms, slow the oxidation of formulation ingredients caused by reactions with oxygen, and keep the characteristic odor or taste of raw materials from becoming overly noticeable.[2] It is also used to add fragrance to products, adjust the characteristic odor of raw materials, and protect the skin from external factors.[2]
