About PEG/PPG-27/27 Dimethicone

PEG/PPG-27/27 Dimethicone is an alkoxylated derivative of dimethicone containing an average of 27 moles of ethylene oxide and 27 moles of propylene oxide.[1] The number 27 after PPG indicates the average number of linked propylene oxide units. Depending on this number and the type of fatty component attached to it, its ability to mix with oils and its application feel may vary. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
