PEG/PPG-20/20 Dimethicone is an alkoxylated derivative of dimethicone consisting of an average of 20 moles of ethylene oxide and 20 moles of propylene oxide.[1] The number 20 after PPG indicates the average number of linked propylene oxide units. Together with the type of fatty component attached, this number affects oil miscibility and application feel. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
