PEG/PPG-20/15 Dimethicone is an alkoxylated derivative of dimethicone consisting of an average of 20 moles of ethylene oxide and 15 moles of propylene oxide.[1] The number 20 after PPG indicates the average number of linked propylene oxide units; this number and the type of fatty component attached to it affect the degree of oil compatibility and application feel. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
