About PEG-9 Stearate
PEG-9 Stearate is a polyethylene glycol ester of stearic acid.[1] The number 9 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; within the same basic structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the formulation's viscosity and spreadability.[2] In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed.
