About PEG-9 Cocoglycerides

PEG-9 Cocoglycerides are polyethylene glycol derivatives of the mono- and diglycerides of coconut oil, with an average ethoxylation value of 9.[1] The number 9 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; for the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formulation. In cosmetics, they are used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, and to create emulsion formulations in which water and oil are evenly blended.[2]
