About PEG-8 Tallate
PEG-8 Tallate is the polyethylene glycol ester of tall oil acid.[1] The number 8 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. For the same base structure, changing this number may affect water compatibility and the formula’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
