PEG-8 Methyl Ether Dimethicone is the methyl ether of a dimethicone derivative containing an average of 8 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 8 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. With the same base structure, changing this number can affect water miscibility and the formulation's viscosity and spreadability.
