About PEG-8 Distearate
PEG-8 Distearate is the polyethylene glycol diester of stearic acid.[1] The number 8 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; within the same basic structure, changing this number can also change water miscibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formula. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
