PEG-8 Di/Triricinoleate is a polyethylene glycol ester of a mixture of dimer and trimer acids derived from ricinoleic acid.[1] The number 8 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; for the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the formula's viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
