About PEG-75 Lanolin

PEG-75 Lanolin is a polyethylene glycol derivative of lanolin containing an average of 75 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 75 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. For the same base structure, changing this number can alter water compatibility as well as the formulation’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction and add a smooth feel to skin or hair, create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
